  • How can I organize my junk drawer?
Use compartments to separate items in your junk drawer. Each item should have a home so that you can find it easily. Remove everything from your drawer and sort them into categories: batteries, screws, bread ties, earrings, whatever else lands in there. Find a new home for the items that make more sense and create compartments for the rest. You can find them at the dollar store or utilize something you already have at home. Boxes used for sandwich bags and aluminum foil work great as junk drawer compartments.
  • With a large family, we frequently don't know whose clothes are in the washer or dryer. How can we solve this issue?"
Write each person's name on a clothespin and line them up to the far end of the washing machine. When it's their turn to do laundry, they will move their clothespin to wherever their clothes are. Place it in between the washer and dryer if they are in the middle of more than one load. If you don't have something to clip the clothespin to, then stick a command hook on each appliance to clip the clothespin to it. I like having one for our guests, too. :)
